I have been a member of the Association for the creation of a science and technology museum (AMSTN ) for several years and my aim is to develop and create end-to-end visual communication for the museum as well as the graphic design for the future exhibition areas.
For me it is an experimental ground where I can think about the problem of time and of its measure during the history of man.
And finally how Neuchâtel was at the summit in this domain during almost a century.
The thematics of this subject to be developed:
- History of the Observatory and the industrialization context with the first world fairs
- Transmission of time and chronometric competitions
- Time and its measure over the centuries
- Functioning of the various instruments used on the site of the Observatory
- Small history of the “Style sapin”, a category of the Art Nouveau
There are several perspectives to be developed:
- Communication (corporate design, flyers, web site, etc.)
- Scenography / museography of exhibitions (Collaboration with the International watchmaking museum to manage the items to be presented and explained to the
public) - Signposting in the building and in the park
- Multimedia applications (videos to present the institution’s history, explain the different items of apparatus, interview of the two last directors Giovanni Busca and Alain Maurissen, etc.)
- Publication of brochures and catalogue
- Documentary and iconographic research (Organisation of archives)
- Research in other observatories in Europe (Besançon Observatory, etc)
